Back in Winterpeg
We drove all night
from Sudbury to pull into Winnipeg at 9:00 am. Wow a new Jeffery
Sez Sudbury-Winnipeg record. Only 21 and a half hours this time.
Jai (The Night-Rider) Soloy racked up another impressive amount
of driving hours, once again moving Chris into a shameful second-string
position in the Transport Department.**** We're about 14 hours
early for our return engagement at the Zoo, so the hotel desk
clerk let us check in early and we slept off our "vanhead".
Nothing like waking
up to the thud of dance music bass and the muffled voice of a
d.j. announcing strippers. Anyone who's stood outside of a strip
bar can imagine it. Kinda sounds like the teacher from Charlie
Brown crossed with Tom Waits. Anyway, we found out from the sound
guy that the d.j. has been playing our cd alot since we left.
It was also cool to see a bunch of the same faces as last time.
We opened for a band called "Big Seed". Great bunch
of guys with a kind of jammy 70's rock n' roll sound. Anyway,
off to Saskatoon for some fence paintin', then our last gig in
Edmonton.
****update. For the record, since
this tour, Chris kicks my ass at total behind the wheel hours.
I bow before his driving prowess. J.
