SUDBURY MAY 28TH,29th
Shitty part of town,cool
bar! Townehouse. Located in an area of hookers & rubbies, yet
behind the rough exterior is a venue of much musical history!
Many of the greats have stopped for a gig on their way up the
road to fame. Many of which were told to us by the staff but all
I care about is our own experience! We finally made money this
time which is good because as our tour takes us home the cash
is running low! We hit the stage at 11:15 EDT. The bar is filling
up quite nicely. We also had the Soloy family reunion, since a
lot of Jai's family lives around Sudbury. This show was full of
great surprises! Both Christian and I broke strings and had tuning
problems. The sound on stage was crap, but the vibe was excellent.
The crowd didn't give a shit. We played an intense 60 minute set
full of guitar changes, flying drumsticks and a dislocated knee(that
was mine while singing "The Ace of Spades"Ouch!! I snapped
it back together and finished the set) I'd say Sudbury is the
runner up with Hamilton for the most fun playing. Knowing we had
time to kill I asked Paul(the bartender/booker) if he knew of
somewhere to play the next night. He called the band playing Saturday(the
29th) and they said we could open the show and so another awesome
night of playing, drinking and selling cd's and t-shirts.The bands
we played with here definitely deserve recognition. On Friday we
opened for "Melanie's Love-Seat" An awesome pop/rock
band(not wimpy ass crap we keep hearing on the FM charts) and
on Saturday,"The Elephant Band" Holy talented three
piece! Sort of a Police meets Rush thing( don't cringe they are
the best of both!) I could go on and on, but someone else is typing
this & I was told to keep it to a minimum!!
