 CJAY 92 Radio, Calgary

The radio interviewer, Erin, got us to do the radio call id thing. I couldn't remember it then and I can't remember it now. It's a late night show for up and coming bands called The Verge. We pre-taped the show at 11am though. I hate singing before dark. Naturally, we were responsible and only drank 'till 2am the night before. The booze and cigarettes are starting to affect my vocals. I've gotta slow down a bit. We are staying with a couple, Tia and Tom. No hotels. Damn cheap radio station. Tia is Scott's sister (you know, from Edmonton. You are following these stories, aren't you?) Tom is a cool blues/jazz performer. The good treatment must run in the family. Tia owns a witchy store in Calgary not too far from Megatunes, a record store we played back in '99. Our sticker is still up beside the door. The "J" is missing.

The radio show was a blast. We were all hung over, or tired and hung over, but spirits were up. Erin, the host, was really fun. No swearing allowed though. The show not being live may have been why. I guess she'd be responsible for it. I'm not sure what my and my mates' cussing is all about. It's not like it's that shocking to most people anyway...

We played live, well Chris, Joey and I did. Tia loaned us a great sounding hand drum (since the one we brought sucks). We did sloppy, unrehearsed versions of East Coullee, Red Dress, Lies and Someone Worse.

I'm really tired and I can't sleep 'cause these stupid little birds won't stop peep-peeping.

Thanks to Tom for taking Chris and Brad to the strippers. They went to the Job Site then went to the Big Easy.

Oh yeah, the other song was Crayon Tattoo. You can thank me later. I know that not knowing the fourth song would have troubled you for seconds. I'm way too burned out.
