Allstars

Hmm... This is starting much like our last tour. Stop in Merritt for lunch, truck won't start. Chris pulled out the starter and hooked it up to the battery on the sidewalk to test it. The thing was shooting sparks all over the place and people walking by hurried along in fear. Well, turns out it was something else. Alternator failure. 77$ later, and it's replaced. Thanks to Chris Hitchcock, drummer extraordinaire, were on the road again. Kamloops Petro Canada. (Truck-stop at entrance to Kamloops). We stopped here to re-fuel and once again- trouble! Truck won't start. Did we blow the new alternator? Chris!! More stress, a lot of testing parts and trial and error. Once again our favorite drummer has us moving. (Hey Christian, we found the Dear John letter. You spelled honorable wrong!).

We find the club. Thank-you Bev for the great directions. It was 6pm when we arrived. The place was deserted and there was a note on the door. It said "Sam" and a phone number. Hmm.. is this some kind of code? Shades of "Hard Core Logo"... We call-no answer. Oh well, food and beer next door. 2 hours later, a guy shows up and opens the bar for us. Turns out the place has only been in business a month. Nice place, just renovated. April Wine had played there about a week ago, and before them, the smalls. Now us. Band #3. Some people from Video Movie House (Yo Video's movie supplier) showed up for a few drinks. We ended up playing for around 20+ people of so. During the first set, some guy yelled out "SLAYER!!" Half way through the next song, Michael stops and asks why someone who wants to hear Slayer is hangin' out in a bar that usually plays dance music. Guy sez "wasn't complaining about you guys" We start the song again and the bar staff (who thought this was pretty funny) brought us a round of Tequila. After the shot, Michael plays the first verse of "Raining Blood" on his acoustic and screaming like an Araya. The Slayer fan (Calvin) was overjoyed.

The free booze really flowed at 'ol Allstars that night. Sam told us that he'd have us back next tour. We made made some new friends and hung out with them after we played. A big Howdy to Nichole, Brandy, Val., Rosa, and Chad. After a couple hours of sleep, were off to Golden.
