The Sidetrack Cafe, Edmonton

We showed up at the venue around 3:30 PM. We had spent the day eating greasy breakfast and slothing around Edmonton searching for pawn shops. I love pawn shops. An expensive garage sale. Customer service, thankfully, at a minimum. We got into town last night and were put up by Scott Shackell the x-dj/light guy from The Urban Lounge. We met him on our first tour and he and Diana, his wife offered us a place to crash for our entire stay here. Scott has also helped us a lot in the promotions department here in Edmonton. They are very cool people. Not as rare as one might think in the travelling music trade.

Right now, I'm sitting in a large bar in West Edmonton Mall called Red's. I bought the pen I'm using from a young girl for a dollar. Not bad, I guess. I'm really babbling. I'm really tired and need a break from people so I stayed here alone while the band, Brad, Scott and Joe went bowling. I love the Big Lebowski, but I think bowling sucks. I'll talk more about the show.

We were the openers. Two hard rock bands to follow. We played the Sidetrack on our first tour. Great place. Awesome sound system and great staff. You can actually hear your vocals on stage. A real treat after Damnedloops. (Kramedhoops?) We hit stage at about a quarter to 10. I think we played well. Place wasn't too busy, but busy enough. I don't really expect much and I'm never let down. Sold a few cds and got really drunk. Especially Bastard. Not a bad night. The show was a last minute booking. Thanks to Vedanta for letting us open their night and Portal for rocking! We'll be seeing you guys again.
