It's Thursday sometime between 12pm & 1. Vancouver is a done deal. I'm in the back of the van en route to Kamloops. I don't have cool rock name for Kamloops yet. Perhaps tonight will inspire something. Maybe a local will let a name slip. Last night was a success. A lot of people for a Wednesday night. I'd guess 100? 150? We opened the show. Didn't have to teach the crowd to clap. A good sign. I find Vancouver intimidating to play. So many great bands all trying hard and doing the same thing. Get noticed! Other cities in Canada don't feel the same way. Not that a band in, say, Saskadelphia doesn't work as hard as a band in Van. It's just (I think) more serious there. Brad, our new (and first) roadie/merch guy sold our first T-shirt. We just had some new ones made by one of Joey's family-type people. Delivered to the bar. They look good. The Silver Stalker (now called Stalker Wylde) showed up last night. She's living in Vancouver and taking a broadcasting course. We hadn't seen her since December. She made cool signs that said "You Rock" & it added to the show. She later told me that some guy came up to her and said "are you a groupie? cause I'm in a band" Nice line. Well, that's day one. Oh, I forgot to mention that Joey's bio-mom rules as usual. We stayed there last night. She fed us, had beer for us and a bunch of food to take with us too! Thanx!!! Rockstar treatment at the beginner level. If you are in a band and Joey's mom is your mom too, I highly recommend stopping in!!
