Ian ,(the part owner of the pub),
had come to Fernie to see our show last Thursday. He enjoyed and
off to Elkford we went. We had spent time polling people at our
shows along the way, "so what can you tell us about Elkford?"
The general response was not usually dialog, but more of a deep
groan. Kinda sounded like a dead or dying moose. Naturally we
became doubtful of our Wednesday night gig, creeping up on us
like a blind date or something. Turns out that we had an awesome
time! This crowd knows how to enjoy live entertainment. You see,
some of these towns don't know when to applaud. It's like they
need some kind of crash course in audience etiquette. We sold
like $200.00 worth of cd's, our best sales night to date. It was
crazy!! All 3 of us making sales and signing discs. Like I said,
"awesome"! They couldn't get enough. the bar was supposed
to be closed at 1 am, but we were cheered into playing until,
like, 2. Ian treated us like old friends. He says that if we come
back in December, he's gonna rent us all snowmobiles and take
us out on them for a day. Nice! the bar was small, but clean and
modernish looking. Ian talked us into doing the show semi-acoustic.
Probably a good call. I don't think the place could have handled
the electric noise. Loud, you know? (see Waterton) Just after
soundcheck, Jai was approached by two ladies From Victoria (Laura
and Sharon) they had come into town for the night on their way
to Calgary. the recognized our name on the bar's marquee (even
tho it was spelt rong). They decided to stay up late and check
out the show. They've only heard the stuff from Rocktoria, so
it was cool to introduce them to the rest of the stuff, especially
in a bar that seemed to be really in to what we were doing. I'm
not sure what else to say. thanks, Elkford! we had an unforgettable
time! see you in Dec. Ian, thanks for breakfast! Hey, why the
hell was the only music store in town closed on the day that we
were there? Hey, Tim Motorhead, baby! Motorhead!
