Waterton
Thirsty Bear Pub July, 24th
Well, off from Fernie and
on our way back into Alberta. Drove just a little too far past
the turn off though, about 20 mins too far. We turned around and
headed back the right way. Before we got to Waterton, we stopped
in Pincher Creek for some propane. Now I'm not sure if it was
just the people at the gas station or the whole town, but people
seem to be relatively slow here. It was at least 15 mins before
anyone started filling....... Anyway, on to Waterton. We get to
the gate and were instantly charged an $8.00 park fee, like hey,
we're playing here tonight! We shouldn't have to pay a dime to
play. We did that last year... But we did and 1 of us had to go
hungry, for the 8$ was food money. Ahhh at the "Thirsty Bear",
what a great little bar with extra high ceilings so we can sound
as shitty as possible. No matter though, did sound check and hung
out at a coffee shop just around the corner from the "Thirsty
Bear".
Tried to recruit
some people to come out to see us, as we usually do in towns where
no one knows us or heard of us etc... Oh another awesome thing,
we had no place to stay. Now not having a place to stay isn't
so bad. It's that we had no "PLUMBING ,SHOWERS YA KNOW",
ugh... Well back into the van and pulled a superman, (one by one,
of course), and got on with the rock. There were plenty of people
in the bar, and they were a younger crowd, YEAHH!!!!!! I don't
know if the other writers have told ya'll or not but we've played
alot a shows for old grumpy men, angry oil riggers and other weird
walks of life. So Waterton was a great place to play, friendly
faces, friendly people, just all around good. The first set went
really well, people clapped, whistled, clapped, hooted, hollered,
well I think you get the idea. They were having a good time and
because of that so were we. It's like this, If the crowd isn't
having fun were not either. Set 2 was rockin, people were way
pissed and really we could of been playing circus music and
it would of been
just fine. Well maybe not circus music... Well shows over and
Chris is still buying pitchers, "mmm this beer sure tastes
good doesn't it boys?" Racing cars , foos ball, all that
good stuff that goes along with a good bar night. Chris drank
himself to sleep, and the boys stayed up and got a little crazy,
but not to krazy, cause everyone's got to sleep at one point or
another. Next morning, (hung over and mouths tasting like a bag
of rotten assholes),we head out on a scenic little expedition
led by Megan and Amber. They took us to Red Rock Canyon, beautiful
by the way.
We took a few pictures
and you'll see what I mean. Well tour over and back on the road
to SPARWOOD..WOOD...wood!!!! Waterton rocks, great time had by
all. See ya next time were through...
Let me take a moment to hand
out the most creative Jeffery Sez spelling award. This poster
is a triple threat too, 'cause it's got the spelling, it's pink,
and it says that we are a progressive rock band. Great, huh?
